Today, at the EuroHPC User Day 2024 in Amsterdam, the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking announced the selection of SURF to host and operate a new European quantum computer, in coordination with QuantumDelta NL. The system will be located at the Amsterdam Science Park and integrated into the Dutch national supercomputer, Snellius.

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has finalized its principal set of encryption algorithms designed to withstand cyberattacks from a quantum computer.

NIST Will Officially Release the Standards for Post-Quantum Encryption Algorithms in the Next Few Weeks

A senior White House official disclosed at a conference on Monday that the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will release post-quantum cryptographic algorithms in the next few weeks. In addition, a spokesperson from NIST also stated recently that the agency plans to officially release post-quantum cryptography standards this summer.
