Recently, at the 23rd Foundation Day of the Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS) in Chennai, India, Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, inaugurated the newly established Quantum Security Research Lab. The research lab will strengthen the country's cybersecurity and provide impetus to the field of quantum information science in India. The focus areas of the lab will include post-quantum cryptography, quantum key distribution, and quantum random number generator.

Dutch communications security startup Q*Bird recently announced that it has raised €2.5 million of funds, which was jointly led by QDNL and Cottonwood Technology Fund, with participation from InnovationQuarter. The company stated that the new funds will be used to expand the sales of its quantum cryptography (QKD) product called Falqon and develop more quantum security products to accelerate its growth in emerging markets.

ID Quantique (IDQ) announced yesterday that it has completed the acquisition of Nutshell Quantum-Safe located in Austria in response to the strong demand for the development and operation of quantum networks in Europe. It is understood that IDQ divested its Austrian operations in 2021 and formed IDQ Europe, which changed its name to Nutshell Quantum-Safe in June last year.

A senior White House official disclosed at a conference on Monday that the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will release post-quantum cryptographic algorithms in the next few weeks. In addition, a spokesperson from NIST also stated recently that the agency plans to officially release post-quantum cryptography standards this summer.
