Quantum Computing Inc. To Showcase Quantum Secure Communications Beyond Quantum Key Distribution at ECOC 2026
HOBOKEN, NJ — September 18, 2026 -- Quantum Computing Inc. a vertically integrated quantum company pioneering photonics and semiconductor manufacturing, today announced it will showcase, for the first time, an integrated quantum security platform that brings encryption and authentication together in a single solution, at the ECOC Exhibition 2026, September 21–23 at FYCMA in Málaga, Spain. At Booth #1436, QCi will demonstrate live quantum communication solutions leveraging time-frequency and polarization-based approaches, highlighting how quantum technologies are moving from research and development toward practical solutions for securing the communications infrastructure of the future.
As organizations prepare for the post-quantum era, the challenge is no longer understanding the value of quantum-secure communications, but overcoming the barriers that have limited deployment. Traditional QKD systems often face challenges associated with scalability, operational complexity, infrastructure cost, and dependence on classical authentication methods. As a result, many quantum communication technologies have remained confined to specialized research environments.
QCi's entanglement-based quantum security platform is designed to overcome these limitations by bringing two critical elements of secure communications - encryption and authentication - together on a single platform. For the first time, QCi will showcase an integrated quantum security solution that combines quantum key distribution (QKD) with hardware-based Quantum Identity Authentication (QIA), demonstrating how quantum technologies can address both the secure exchange of encryption keys and the fundamental need to establish trusted identities between communicating parties.
The platform combines high-dimensional quantum key distribution, direct entanglement verification, Quantum Identity Authentication (QIA ), and integrated key management in a telecom-compatible architecture. QIA is based on QCi’s patented invention, “Systems and Methods for Quantum-Secured, Private-Preserving Computations,” which was granted patent protection in the United States and more than 40 other countries and was recognized with the 44th Edison Patent Award, presented to Dr. Yuping Huang and Dr. Lac Nguyen for their contributions to quantum-secured, privacy-preserving computing. The patented technology enables quantum authentication and verification of private information without requiring that information to be shared, addressing security vulnerabilities beyond encryption alone. By reducing dependence on classical authentication, supporting wavelength-multiplexed scaling across multiple nodes, and operating in a compact room-temperature form factor, QCi is advancing a practical path toward deployable quantum-secure networking infrastructure.
QCi is addressing that challenge with technologies designed to bring quantum security into practical communications environments. At ECOC, QCi will feature the following at Booth #1436:
- Flexible Quantum Instrumentation & Metrology QCi will demonstrate a highly adaptable platform for quantum measurement, characterization and system development. The platform is designed to help researchers, developers and engineers to understand, test and validate quantum technologies and concepts, supporting next generation quantum applications, and transitioning laboratory concepts toward practical systems.
- Quantum-Secured Communications Solution QCi will showcase an integrated solution combining Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) with hardware-based Quantum Identity Authentication (QIA). QIA leverages QCi’s Quantum Zero-Knowledge Proof (QZKP) technology to provide quantum-safe authentication without relying solely on computational cryptography.
- Photonics Components on Display QCi will also showcase its advanced photonics components, highlighting the critical building blocks that enable next-generation quantum and optical communications systems and underscoring the Company’s vertically integrated approach to photonics technology and manufacturing.
Together, these technologies demonstrate a more comprehensive approach to quantum-secured communications by addressing both the secure exchange of cryptographic keys and the fundamental need to establish trust between communicating parties.
“The transition to quantum-secure communications is no longer a long-term technology discussion. Organizations are beginning to consider what it will take to protect communications and critical data against the quantum and AI threat,” said Yong Meng Sua, Chief Technology Officer of QCi. “At ECOC, we’re showing what the future can look like in practice. Our demonstrations bring together quantum authentication, quantum key distribution and the instrumentation required to develop and validate quantum systems, giving the telecomm industry a firsthand look at how quantum technologies can strengthen the security of tomorrow’s communications.”
Quantum-Authenticated Communications for Broad Security Applications
QCi will also participate in the ECOC Product Focus Theatre with a presentation exploring the role of quantum authentication in securing communications across a broad range of applications. Titled “The Quantum Secure Solution: Quantum-authenticated communications for broad applications in security,” the presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 23, from 14:50 to 15:10 and will be delivered by Massimo Di Blasio, Director, Product Line Management/Business Development at QCi.
The presentation will examine how quantum-authenticated communications can provide new approaches to establishing identity and trust in secure communications systems as organizations prepare for the evolving quantum threat.
“Optical communications form the foundation of the connected world, and security has to evolve alongside the networks themselves,” said Sua. “Quantum technologies have the potential to fundamentally change how we establish trust and protect information. ECOC gives us an opportunity to demonstrate that potential through technologies that are being developed with real-world applications in mind.”
