D-Wave Extends Agreement With Aramco to Explore Use of Quantum Technology to Solve Optimization Problems in Geophysics

D-Wave Quantum announced yesterday that it has extended its agreement with Aramco, a global integrated energy and chemicals company. For the past two years, Aramco's Research Center in the Netherlands has been collaborating with D-Wave on quantum technology to solve highly complex optimization problems involved in computationally intensive seismic imaging. It is reported that Aramco's research team has developed hybrid classical-quantum applications for geophysics using D-Wave's quantum annealers and hybrid solvers.
