The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) has launched a call for tender for the installation of EuroQCS-Spain, a new EuroHPC quantum computer to be integrated into the EuroHPC supercomputer MareNostrum5.

The European Commission has announced the launch of new Horizon Europe calls, with a substantial funding pool of over €112 million. These calls are aimed primarily at pioneering projects in the realms of artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technologies.

This constitutes a major milestone on the path to the certification of QKD products. The Protection Profile was developed within the framework of the ETSI Industry Specification Group ISG-QKD, to which ID Quantique has contributed since its inception in 2008. The Protection Profile has subsequently been fully validated by the SGS evaluation lab in Graz, and the evaluation has been certified by the German certification body BSI.

Quandela, European leader in quantum computing, announces the appointment of Michel Paulin to its Board of Directors. Michel, a recognized expert in the digital industry, was previously CEO of telecommunications pioneer SFR and European sovereign cloud leader OVHcloud. He will bring his experience to Quandela and enrich the company’s strategic vision.

IonQ, a leader in the quantum computing and networking industries, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Global Research and Development Center for Business by Quantum-AI Technology (G-QuAT), a division of one of the largest public research organizations in Japan, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology’s (AIST). This memorandum facilitates cooperation between IonQ and G-QuAT intended to advance quantum computing technologies in Japan.

Physicists at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Brookhaven National Laboratory and Stony Brook University (SBU) have shown that particles produced in collimated sprays called jets retain information about their origins in subatomic particle smashups. The study was recently published as an Editor’s Suggestion in the journal Physical Review Letters.
