XeedQ Signs Letter of Intent With Government of Tamil Nadu to Launch Early Quantum Computing Programme in India

Industry / Press Release January 31, 2026

January 29, 2026 -- XeedQ proudly announces the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Tamil Nadu Technology Hub (iTNT) during UmagineTN 2026, marking a significant milestone in India’s quantum technology landscape. This collaboration reflects XeedQ’s commitment to advancing access to quantum computing resources and fostering innovation in India’s deep-tech ecosystem.

Through this partnership, XeedQ will launch one of India’s earliest quantum computing programmes, providing direct access to quantum hardware for students, researchers, and startups. The initiative will be rolled out in phases to ensure wide participation and sustainable capability building across Tamil Nadu.

In Phase One, participants will gain remote access to a live 4-qubit quantum computer, enabling them to experiment and run real quantum tasks. Phase Two will establish on-site access to quantum computing hardware at the iTNT Hub, creating an interactive environment for practical learning and innovation.

The programme emphasizes hands-on experience – allowing learners and innovators to work directly on real quantum systems rather than relying solely on theoretical study or simulators. The iTNT Hub will serve as the nodal platform for outreach, onboarding, and resource access, connecting institutions and innovators across the state.

During the event, Dr. Gopalakrishnan Balasubramanian, Founder of XeedQ, showcased a live demonstration of remote quantum computing, engaging hundreds of students and young entrepreneurs. In addition, Julian Rickert, XeedQ’s Director of Research, led a masterclass on XQ1, highlighting its advanced capabilities, real-world applications, and the seamless transition from research to deployment. These sessions offered participants a first-hand look at how quantum technologies are rapidly evolving from theoretical frameworks into practical, deployable solutions.

XeedQ extends its gratitude to the Government of Tamil Nadu and iTNT Hub for their partnership and visionary support. The collaboration embodies a shared mission – to empower the emerging tech ecosystem in India and accelerate readiness for a quantum future.
