IQM Quantum Computers (IQM), a global leader in designing, building, and selling superconducting quantum computers, today announced the company has won a contract to deliver the Czech Republic’s first quantum computer to be installed at the IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Centre in Ostrava.

Four world-leaders are joining forces for pushing the realisation of quantum computers and their integration in HPC systems forward: Forschungszentrum Jülich, Goethe-University Frankfurt, ParTec and Quantum Machines have partnered for developing a 10+ superconducting qubit system and integrating it into the supercomputing infrastructure of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre.

The NVIDIA Accelerated Quantum Research Center, or NVAQC, announced today at the NVIDIA GTC global AI conference, is where these developments will happen. With an NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 system and the NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking platform, the facility will house a supercomputer with 576 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs dedicated to quantum computing research.

This groundbreaking initiative aims to enhance collaborative research and remove barriers to accessing cutting-edge quantum computing technologies.

The University of Missouri has joined the IBM Quantum Network, and established the state’s first IBM Quantum Innovation Center to provide researchers and institutions with access to advanced quantum computing through IBM’s cloud-based platform.

The Department of Energy’s Quantum Computing User Program, or QCUP, at the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility, or OLCF, enables scientific discovery and technological innovation by providing a diverse community of scientific researchers access to quantum computing resources. This competitive merit-based access program partners with quantum computing vendors to provide cloud-based access to quantum computing resources and to facilitate user interactions, resource management and reporting. The program engages a broad community of users in the development and curation of these resources for testing and evaluation of quantum computing for scientific research.

Qiskit now refined as a comprehensive quantum software stack, focused on performance and stability to fully harness the power of utility-scale quantum hardware, and enable users to run increasingly more complex quantum circuits in the search for quantum advantage.
