Quantinuum, the world’s largest and leading integrated quantum computing company, unveiled its roadmap to universal, fully fault-tolerant quantum computing by 2030. Honeywell today announced the closing of a $300 million equity fundraise for Quantinuum, the world’s leading integrated quantum computing company, at a pre-money valuation of $5 billion. The round is anchored by Quantinuum’s strategic partner JPMorgan Chase, with additional participation from Mitsui & Co., Amgen and Honeywell, which remains the company’s majority shareholder. This investment brings the total capital raised by Quantinuum since inception to approximately $625 million.

Honeywell today announced a new Public-Private Partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) to provide Honeywell’s Quantum Key Distribution Satellite (QKDSat), an ultra-secure telecommunications satellite that helps keep the exchange of sensitive information secure and private. The partnership supports Honeywell’s alignment of its portfolio with three powerful megatrends, including the future of aviation.

Lightmatter, the leader in photonic supercomputing, today announced it has appointed Richard Beyer and Robin Washington to its board of directors. Beyer and Washington join existing board members in supporting the company’s mission to power the next generation of computing systems to further enable AI innovation.

Currently scheduled for launch next year, QEYSSat will carry this small quantum source into space where it will send polarization-encoded photons between itself and ground stations on Earth. ReFQ is a small black box, built to withstand the vibrations of launch and the conditions of space. It has undergone rigorous in-lab testing and is now ready to be shipped to the researchers’ collaborator, Honeywell Aerospace, who is responsible for integrating this source into the main satellite.
