QuantrolOx and CDAC Announce Loi to Explore Co-Development of Quantum Computing Technologies

Industry / Press Release September 5, 2025

New Delhi, India, September 02, 2025 -- Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), India’s premier R&D organization of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, today announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Quantrolox (QuantrolOx Finland Oy, Keilaranta 10, 02150 Espoo, Finland), is the world-leading provider of software for automated tuning and characterization of quantum processors. Through this LoI C-DAC and Quantrolox will explore the co-development of quantum computing technologies to support government laboratories and academics pursuing quantum computing R&D.

“QuantrolOx has created a paradigm shift in the rate of development of QPUs. Our software Quantum EDGE has enabled the quantum industry to move from a handful of iterative cycles per year to 100s of iterative cycles per year with unparalleled speed, scale, quality and flexibility. This is shrinking R&D times to levels that were thought impossible and accelerating the path of useful quantum computers. I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to partner with C-DAC to advance India’s technological leadership in developing indigenous cryogenic electronics and superconducting quantum hardware & software,” said Vishal Chatrath, Chief Executive Officer of QuantrolOx.

“C-DAC continues to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s advanced computing landscape, both as a leader in high-performance computing and as the nodal agency for the Government of India’s ChipIN initiative, which is focused on strengthening domestic semiconductor design capabilities. Our partnership with QuantrolOx, is a strategic step toward developing indigenous cryogenic electronics, superconducting quantum hardware & software, and securing access to advanced processor fabrication.  This partnership is poised to drive impactful advancements in electronics and IT, reinforcing India’s position in next-generation technologies,” saidShri. E. Magesh, Director General, CDAC.

“Our partnership with Quantrolox—a leading provider of software for automated tuning and characterization of quantum processors—represents a strategic move toward building a robust quantum computing ecosystem in the country. The effort will center on co-developing an indigenous quantum software stack and pushing the boundaries of tuning and characterization tools for various quantum computing platforms. Our partnership with QuantrolOx marks a crucial step in advancing India’s technological leadership in quantum computing and the supporting software ecosystem,” said Dr. S D Sudarsan, Executive Director, C-DAC Bangalore.
