NWO and Quantum Delta NL Open New Call for Quantum Technology 2025

Industry / Press Release December 5, 2025

December 04, 2025 -- In this third joint call, 10,588,522 euro has been made available for scientific research into innovation in quantum technology. This call is in line with the National Growth Fund Programme Quantum Delta NL and is aimed at scientists from universities and universities of applied sciences.

Quantum technology is an innovative field of research with applications in areas such as cybersecurity and more powerful computers. By conducting groundbreaking research, the Netherlands can become a global leader in the application of quantum technologies.

About the call

The aim of this call is to stimulate, consolidate and strengthen fundamental research of high scientific quality that forms the basis for new innovations in quantum technology that are in line with the Catalyst Programmes of the Quantum Delta NL Growth Fund proposal. These are:

  • 1. Quantum computing and simulation
  • 2. National quantum network
  • 3. Quantum Sensing Applications

Applications can be submitted by one main applicant, with optionally a maximum of one co-applicant and/or one co-funder. A maximum of 750,000 euros may be requested per project. The deadline for proposals is 3 March 2026.

A special feature of this call is that researchers who have recently obtained their PhD can apply for a personal research budget. This is intended to stimulate young talent in quantum technology. This was already possible in previous calls within this framework, and was well-utilized. Therefore, the decision was made to continue this successful format.

Unlike previous calls within this framework, TO2 institutions can now also submit applications, and the personnel cap for universities of applied sciences has been abolished. Furthermore, the current call also allows for collaboration within a project. A maximum of two positions can be applied for by a main applicant and co-applicant with complementary expertise.
