QuantWare Expands Into South Korea As Part Of Its Rapid International Expansion

Business / Press Release October 29, 2025

Delft, the Netherlands, October 28 2025 -- QuantWare,  the creator of VIO, the 3D scaling architecture for the most powerful quantum processors, today announced it has opened operations in Seoul, South Korea as part of QuantWare’s rapid international expansion.

QuantWare is currently the largest supplier of quantum processors in Korea, having served the Korean quantum ecosystem for several years. Its Open Architecture quantum processors power multiple quantum computers in the country, including the quantum computer at Korea’s prestigious Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), announced earlier this year. QuantWare’s expansion into Korea will also be critical in helping the local quantum industry develop its talent base, giving them access to cutting-edge, on-the-ground quantum hardware, and helping deliver the mission of Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT of training 12.500 quantum professionals.

“We see Korea as a highly strategic region for QuantWare,” said Matt Rijlaarsdam. “Korea has been clear about its ambition to build a world-class quantum industry, having announced plans to put 3 trillion KRW (>2 billion USD) behind it. We know from their achievements in the semiconductor industry that when they set a goal like this, they can build a world-leading industry very rapidly. QuantWare exists to power such industries, by delivering the best compute platform to build upon. With QuantWare’s expansion in Korea, we aim to serve the needs of the Korean industry in their mission of becoming a global hub for the quantum economy.”
