Italian supercomputing centre Cineca today announced an agreement with IQM Quantum Computers, a global leader in superconducting quantum computers, to deliver the most powerful quantum computer in Italy.

The Basque Government, and IBM today announced plans to install Europe's first IBM Quantum System Two at the IBM-Euskadi Quantum Computational Center on Ikerbasque Foundation's main campus in San Sebastian, Spain (Gipuzkoa, Spain). Since the initial announcement, the parties have agreed to update the original plan to install an IBM Quantum System One, to now deploy IBM's most advanced modular quantum computer, IBM Quantum System Two, which is expected to be complete by the end of 2025.

Today, IonQ announced that it has reached a definitive agreement with each of SK Telecom and ID Quantique (IDQ), a global leader in quantum safe networking and sensing headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland with offices in Seoul (South Korea), Vienna (Austria), and Boston (USA), to acquire a controlling stake in IDQ. Alongside the transaction, IonQ expects to enter into a strategic partnership focused on quantum with SK Telecom, the largest wireless telecommunications operator in South Korea.

SEEQC, the first company to create digital chips to power full-stack quantum computing systems that work with all quantum computing technologies – has raised $30 million to further accelerate the capabilities and commercial rollout of its chip platform. The round was led by NordicNinja and Booz Allen Ventures with participation from SIP Capital, alongside existing investors EQT Ventures, M-Ventures (Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany) BlueYard Capital, FAM and Asset Management.

Today, IBM and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker announced a collaboration to establish the new National Quantum Algorithm Center in the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP) in Chicago.

The Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI) under the National Applied Research Laboratories today announces the procurement of its first full-stack quantum computer from IQM Quantum Computers (IQM), a global leader in designing, building, and selling superconducting quantum computers. The delivery and installation of the system at TSRI’s premises will take place in the second quarter of 2025.

Today, Yonsei University and IBM deployed the first IBM Quantum System One in the Republic of Korea, which is only the second such system located on a university campus in the world. The IBM Quantum System One at Yonsei’s Songdo International Campus Quantum Computing Center is intended to provide opportunities to research and utilize quantum computing for the university, as well as for other academic institutions, companies, and organizations in Korea that collaborate with Yonsei.
