TNO Expands Quantum Information Technology Testing Capabilities to Support Startups
April 14, 2025 -- TNO is set to double its quantum testing facilities with the launch of a new hub at the House of Quantum in Delft. This expansion will provide much-needed space and resources to meet the growing demand for quantum information technology testing facilities from startups and scaleups. This will ensure that innovative quantum computing solutions can be developed and tested more efficiently. The new TNO hub, strategically located in the heart of the Delft quantum ecosystem provides enhanced accessibility and support for startups and is partly funded by the National Growth Fund programme Quantum Delta NL.
Accelerate innovation
Realizing advanced quantum computing systems involves countless challenges and complexities. TNO has extensive knowledge and experience in systems engineering, device and material development, and qubit tuning and characterization. This expertise enables integrators, developers, QPU designers, and device manufacturers to overcome challenges and accelerate development. Quantum startups and scaleups can leverage TNO's expertise and facilities at the House of Quantum in Delft to advance their innovative solutions.
Quantum hardware
Testing of Quantum hardware - from chip to control electronic - is crucial for the development of reliable and efficient quantum computing systems. For instance, the chips are the foundation of quantum computers and their performance directly impacts the capabilities of the full systems. Every element of the computing stack also need to properly integrate with the rest, meaning that rigorous and independent testing is needed to properly evaluate performances and interoperability. By providing expertise and access to state-of-the-art testing facilities, TNO helps startups and scaleups validate their designs, optimize performance, and bring their products to market faster. This support is essential for fostering innovation and maintaining the competitive edge of the Dutch quantum ecosystem.
