POSTECH Launches Graduate School of Quantum Science and Technology
December 17, 2024 -- POSTECH held the opening ceremony for the Graduate School of Quantum Science and Technology (Principal Professor Yoon-Ho Kim of POSTECH) on October 31 at the POSCO International Center. Quantum information science is poised to drive innovation across multiple industries, including semiconductors, medicine, biotechnology, and mobility, as a key technology in the age of artificial intelligence. This launch marks a significant milestone as the first step in Gyeongsangbuk-do’s initiative to “develop a quantum technology workforce.” POSTECH has been chosen for the Ministry of Science and ICT's Quantum Graduate School Support Project. With a total investment of 24.2 billion won, the school will develop and implement a specialized quantum curriculum, aiming to train 180 PhD-level experts over the next 9 years.
