There are more than 60 quantum companies in Canada and around eight of them are based in B.C. This includes world-leading firms such as D-Wave Systems, the world’s first company to offer commercial quantum computing services, and Photonic Inc., which raised US$100 million from investors including Microsoft last year. B.C. is also home to 1Qbit, the first dedicated quantum software company, and BTQ Technologies Corp., which provides quantum resistance, security and encryption solutions.

Quantum software company Classiq announced yesterday that it had established a strategic partnership with Mphasis, an IT solution provider specializing in cloud and cognitive services. Through this strategic cooperation, both parties will jointly develop groundbreaking quantum solutions and are committed to accelerating the adoption of quantum solutions for enterprises by integrating them into their operations.

Shortly after the retirement of the IBM Quantum Lab service, IBM announced yesterday that it has partnered with OVHcloud, a cloud service provider, and Qbraid, a quantum software development cloud platform, as third-party providers of Jupyter notebook environments to meet the needs of users who wish to use Qiskit on the cloud.

Yesterday, the German quantum software company Kipu Quantum and the quantum computing startup Quantum-South, which focuses on developing logistics optimization solutions, announced a strategic partnership. This partnership will focus on developing and deploying advanced quantum solutions, leveraging each other's unique strengths to introduce groundbreaking quantum computing applications in telecommunications, banking and financial services, and logistics.
