100 Kilometres of Quantum-Encrypted Transfer
100 Kilometres of Quantum-Encrypted Transfer
Researchers at DTU have successfully distributed a quantum-secure key using a method called Continuous Variable Quantum Key Distribution (CV QKD). The researchers have managed to make the method work over a record 100 km distance—the longest distance ever achieved using the CV QKD method. The advantage of the method is that it can be applied to the existing Internet infrastructure.
QuTech and Eurofiber Run Quantum Cryptography on Existing Fiber in an Open Testbed
QuTech and Eurofiber Run Quantum Cryptography on Existing Fiber in an Open Testbed
QuTech and Eurofiber, together with QuTech spin-out Q*Bird and other partners, have installed a proof-of-concept quantum communication system between locations in the Utrecht area. The testbed shows that it is possible to build secure communication using carrier grade dark fiber connections, integrating conventional network equipment in a quantum encryption environment.
Singtel Collaborates With Cisco, Fortinet and Nokia to Build Quantum-Safe Solutions for Enterprises
Singtel Collaborates With Cisco, Fortinet and Nokia to Build Quantum-Safe Solutions for Enterprises
Singtel signed three Memoranda of Understanding with industry leaders, Cisco, Fortinet, and Nokia, to provide quantum security solutions to enterprises through its Quantum Safe Network (QSN). With this collaboration, enterprises can tap on Cisco's routing platform, Fortinet's firewalls and Nokia's optical devices to boost their defences against advanced cyber threats. These solutions utilise quantum key distribution, which is a secure method for distributing encryption keys only known between shared parties, from Singtel’s QSN and can be easily integrated into the enterprises’ existing network and security infrastructure.
