Qilimanjaro and Qblox Announce Strategic Collaboration to Advance Hybrid Digital-Analog Quantum Computing

Business / Press Release September 25, 2025

Barcelona / Delft, September 24 2025 -- Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech and Qblox are expanding an existing collaboration to accelerate the deployment of digital-analog quantum computing systems in Europe. The partnership builds on joint work at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and will now extend to Qilimanjaro’s Hybrid Quantum Data Center in Barcelona, scheduled to open this November.

Qilimanjaro’s vision is to build hybrid quantum computers that combine the company’s  signature analog processors with digital ones  based on European superconducting technology.   Qilimanjaro’s quantum computers and Qblox’s advanced control  stacks come together to enable scalable, reliable systems available via  cloud services and on-premise HPC integration. Together, these technologies will be implemented in Qilimanjaro’s Hybrid Quantum Data Center and offered as a cloud service.  This will be the first time  analog quantum computers and digital superconducting quantum computers are available under one platform and software environment.

Qilimanjaro and Qblox have been collaborating on  quantum computer integration at  BSC for some time. Qilimanjaro has led the integration of superconducting quantum systems at the HPC center alongside MareNostrum 5, one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers. Two digital quantum computers are operational as a result of the Quantum Spain initiative, and work is now underway on an analog quantum computer as part of the EuroQCS-Spain project. Once installed, this will mark a European milestone: the first instance of digital and analog quantum computers with superconducting technology operating side by side in a high-performance computing environment.

“Partnering with Qblox brings us closer to opening quantum technology to end users, ensuring broad access through our quantum data centers and advancing our vision of delivering real impact across both industry and research,” said Marta P. Estarellas, CEO of Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech.

“Qilimanjaro is uniquely positioned globally, with expertise in both digital and analog quantum computing. Our longstanding partnership is key to Qblox’s mission of advancing our customers toward industrial-scale quantum computing. Together, we’ve demonstrated we can build the world’s most advanced hybrid systems,” said Niels Bultink, CEO of Qblox.

This partnership also aligns with the broader European drive for quantum sovereignty. Through initiatives such as ImpaQT, Qilimanjaro and Qblox are combining their strengths – Qilimanjaro in hybrid quantum computing development, and Qblox in control stacks – to accelerate Europe’s leadership in the advancement of this revolutionary industry.
